The Panel recalled its decision of 26th November 2007 to check the records of meetings since its constitution on 19th June 2007 that had been held in private session, with a view to identifying records that could legitimately be placed in the public domain. The Panel was advised by the Chairman of correspondence relating to the Criminal Offences Law from Advocate P. Landick, copies of which were circulated to the Panel. The Panel agreed that it would send a written reply. The Panel noted briefing notes of the Chairmen's Committee meeting of 7th December 2007. It also received an oral report from Deputy S. Pitman on matters arising from the Chairmen's Committee meeting that she attended on behalf of the Panel on January 18th 2008. The Panel recalled that, on 14th January 2008, it had attended Critical Skills training. It was noted that, on 18th January 2008, the Chairman had attended the swearing-in of new Police recruits.
