1. | Waste:
Due to added complications found within the review and the time it has taken to obtain documentation offered to Juniper by Transport and Technical Services, it was understood that the Panel would not meet the deadline of the exhibition date with the evidence fully collated and the report drafted. As a result, the Panel agreed that the exhibition would be pushed back to a more suitable date and that available dates for the venue were to be investigated. It was considered important that the exhibition and launch of the report were co-ordinated.
On the 19th February, 2008, Juniper published a report relating to Gasification Plants entitled, Juniper Ratings – Gasification. The ratings report covered all types of processes that result in the generation of a syngas;

| technologies Juniper ratings comprised operations at all scales and for various types of waste including MSW, RDF, medical waste, a variety of industrial and chemical wastes as well as a broad range of biomass materials and co-gasification of waste with biomass and coal. The report included the major gasification technologies operating on coal, petcoke and oil refinery residues. The standard cost of this report is £500 although it was believed that a small discount may have be obtained in view of the work Juniper was doing for the Panel. The Panel considered this report would add value to the Waste Plant review and approved the sum of £500 to be made available for the purchase of the document. It was further agreed that the final decision as to the documents worth would be made by the Chairman, were he to view it prior to purchase on his attendance at the Juniper office on 5th March. RD. 2. | Air Quality Review: The completion timetable was examined with regard to the limited officer resources available to the Panel. The Panel maintained that the report needed to be completed by the end of March. It accepted that to achieve that timetable, the drafting would need to be delegated to another officer by the Scrutiny Office Manager. RD. KLB. CSW. PLC. | KTF |
3. | Sustainability Conference. The Members noted that an invitation had been extended to the Panel to attend a conference entitled Your building, your environment, your future.' This was to be run by a local law firm on Wednesday 12th March 2008 at Highlands College. The Panel agreed that this was very relevant to the Panels work and that it would attend if free from the States sitting at that time. RD. KLB. CSW. PLC. | Panel |
