Item 2 07.02.08 | Draft Price and Charge Indicators (Jersey) Law 200- The Panel received and considered an officer briefing paper in respect of responses to requests for information on Draft Price Indicators (Jersey) Regulations 200- Amd (P.14-2008) (Senator Norman's amendments). The Panel recalled two key findings from its review into the Draft Price and Charge Indicators (Jersey) Law 200-, the right of customers to know the price that they are paying and the right to know how much tax they are paying. The Panel considered how the aforementioned amendments would impact upon consumers and retailers. The Panel agreed to prepare a comment on the amendments and to proceed with an amendment for mandatory display of GST payable on receipts. Item 7 07.02.08 | Employment and Training Opportunities in Jersey The Panel noted the officer's concerns regarding the large volume of background information required for the initial review files and agreed that all information deemed relevant by the officer should be included. The Panel discussed the issue of which Department the Skills Executive was primarily accountable to. The Panel agreed that further information was required to establish operational responsibilities for the Skills Executive and clarification of its objectives. It further agreed to start by looking at apprenticeships and instructed officers to arrange a public hearing with Sean Prichard, Director of Business Creation and Growth, Training and Employment Partnerships, Economic Development Department. The Panel discussed concerns relating to the potential risk of cross-over with migration issues within this review. | NJF |

Item 5 07.02.08 | The Role and Funding of Jersey Finance Limited The Panel noted the forthcoming public hearings with Geoff Cook, Chief Executive, JFL and Mr Charles Clarke, Accountant to be held March 5th at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm respectively. The Panel considered the areas of questioning for the aforementioned public hearings and received review file updates. |

6. | 2008 Panel Work Programme The Panel considered its current and future work programme and noted that its future work plans will potentially be influenced by the forthcoming presentation from Economic Development due March 4th 2008 and the possibility of a temporary reduction in officer support. The Panel considered a meeting date of March 5th 2008, for discussions with the Economic Development Minister in relation to the Annual Business Plan and agreed that due to the aforementioned presentation by the Department that the need for such a meeting be revisited following the presentation. |

7. Item 8 07.02.08 | Future meetings The Panel noted that the next meeting was due to be held on March 5th 2008 at 9.30am in the First Floor Meeting Room. However, due to the JFL Public Hearings that follow the Panel's next meeting at 11:30 am, the meeting venue has been changed to Le Capelain Room. |
