1. Minutes

The Panel was not quorate and therefore unable to consider the minutes of its meeting of 6th July.

2. Depositor Compensation Scheme

The  Panel  considered  a  draft  question  plan  for  the  Public

Hearing on Monday 3rd August with the Minister for Economic Development and agreed a number of changes to the order and

substance of questions.

The Panel noted that the Secretary General of the International Association  of  Deposit  Insurers  (IADI)  had  not  yet  confirmed which  Associate  of  the  organisation  would  be  available  to advise. It was agreed to follow up the inquiry.

The Panel received and noted a hard copy of the OXERA report detailing the changes made from the March version to the final version.

The Panel noted that the Chairman had contacted the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission and Guernsey Financial Services  Commission. The  Panel  further  noted  that  Mr  B. Dunning  of  the  Guernsey  Banking  Deposit  Compensation Scheme had indicated that the Scheme's Board might be able to appear at a Public Hearing in Jersey at a date to be agreed. The Panel also noted that the Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission had agreed to receive it the

week  commencing  the  3rd  August  at  a  date  and  time  to  be agreed. The Panel agreed to make arrangements to visit the Isle

of Man on either the 6th or 7th August.

5. Future Meetings

The Panel noted that its next scheduled meeting would take place  at  9:15am  in  Le  Capelain  room,  States  Building,  on

Monday 3rd August 2009.

The  Panel  further  noted  the  Public  Hearing  at  10:00am  on

Monday 3rd August with the Minister for Economic Development, Director International Finance and Finance Industry Development

Executive.
