1. Vice Chairman

The  Sub-Panel  agreed for   Connétable   Crowcroft to  be  Vice- Chairman for the course of the review.

2. Background Information:

The Sub-Panel noted receipt of its review files and the public submissions contained within them. The Sub-Panel requested the Officer to:

  • Obtain  and  circulate  the  laws  listed  in  the  scoping document for reference.
  • Contact  the  liaison  officers  in  each  of  the  identified departments to request any information relevant to the review.
  • Contact Mr. John Stievenard to request all information and minutes with regard to discussions about the alcohol ban in The Parade Gardens.

3. Public Engagement

The Sub-Panel agreed that there had been a good response to the Call for Evidence from members of the public.

The Sub-Panel requested the Officer to invite the Comité des Connétable s to contribute to the review or recommend any other relevant witnesses. The Sub-Panel further requested the Officer to contact each of the Parishes to see if the call for evidence could also be placed in their Parish newsletters for November.

The  Sub-Panel  requested  the  Officer  to  enquire  into  the possibility of a tourist questionnaire to be distributed to hotels and guest houses to collate visitor's views.

5. Public Hearings

The  Sub-Panel  agreed  it  wished  to  consider  the  public submissions  and  gather  background  information  before confirming the first witnesses for public hearings.
