The Panel considered an amendment which had been prepared by the Law Draftsman which would allow for the States to amend the Civil Partnership  (Jersey)  Law  201-  at  a  later  date  to  provide  for Regulations under which

  • Anglican churches and other religious premises (registered' premises)  might  be  used  for  the  solemnization  of  civil partnerships
  • Persons nominated by the owners or trustees of such buildings would be authorised to solemnize civil partnerships
  • A  register  of  buildings  and  authorised  persons  would  be maintained
  • Relevant  fees  would  be  charged  by  the  Superintendent

The Panel approved the amendment together with its accompanying report and requested that they be lodged au Greffe.
