2.  Future Hearings and Meetings

The  Sub-Panel  was  advised  that  due  to  a  Council  of  Ministers meeting now taking place on 31st May 2012, Senator P.F.C. Ozouf , Minister for Treasury and Resources and Senator A.J.H. Maclean, Minister for Economic Development were no longer available to attend a public hearing on this date. However, both Ministers were available on the morning of the 1st June and it was therefore agreed by the Sub- Panel that the public hearings would be re-arranged to take place on this alternative day.

Members  were  also  advised  that  the  Chairman  of  the  Tourism Development Fund (TDF) was available to attend a public hearing on 31st May and had requested to bring another Member of the TDF Panel along to appear as a witness. The Chairman's request was accepted and the Scrutiny Officer was asked to confirm this decision with the TDF Panel.

It was agreed by the Sub-Panel that Members would next meet on the afternoon of Wednesday 30th May to discuss question plans. The Scrutiny  Officer  was  requested  to  send  an  email  to  Members confirming dates and times of future hearings and meetings.

4.  Requested Information – Application process and previous fund allocations

The Sub-Panel received an update regarding the information it had

requested from the Economic Development Department during its last meeting.

Furthermore,  following  a  lengthy  discussion,  Members  asked  the Scrutiny  Officer  to  make  further  requests  to  the  Department  for information  concerning  the  application  process  and  the  criteria needed  by  organisations  in  order  to  be  considered  for  funding. Furthermore,  it  was  agreed  by  the  Sub-Panel  that  additional information was required in regard to past allocation of funds.
