1. Digital Jersey

The Panel welcomed the Project Manager IT/E-Commerce Project and Performance and Operations Manager from the Economic Development Department, who provided the Panel with a briefing on the recently launched Digital Jersey project.

28/03/12 Item 1

510/1(29)

2. Quarterly Update Hearing

The  Panel  noted  the  transcript  from  the  Quarterly  Update  Public Hearing with the  Minister for Economic Development, held on 28th March.  The  transcript  would  be  uploaded  to  the  Scrutiny  website subject to minor factual amendments.

08/02/12 Item 3

515/1(24)

3. Work Programme

Having considered the content of the transcript and recent information on the drafting of a Financial Ombudsman Scheme, the Panel agreed that there was some concern that several of the potential Review topics that it had identified may be inadvertently converging to points before the summer recess that could make it difficult for it to undertake its work, without the possibility of causing some delay to the Minister's plans. The Panel agreed to write to the Minister to request precise and detailed timetables for work being undertaken in the following areas, to be forwarded in advance of its next Panel meeting on 25th April:

Financial Services Ombudsman Incorporation of Airport and Harbours Economic Growth Strategy

Jersey Business

Digital Jersey

Tourism PPP

Skills Strategy

06/03/12 Item 2

515/23

4. Aircraft Registry

Due to delays in the Panel's planned public  work on the Financial Ombudsman Scheme, because of the likelihood that the law drafting process wouldn't now produce a publishable version of the legislation

for at least several weeks, the Panel agreed that it would make an immediate start on its Review Aircraft Registry. It agreed to draft a Call for  Evidence  and  written  submission  request  letters  from  key stakeholders.  The  Panel  further  agreed  to  invite  the  Minister  for Economic Development to a Public Hearing on 25th April.
