Higher Education: tax allowances The Panel received a briefing from the Assistant Minister for Treasury and Resources and the Treasurer of the States on plans to introduce in the next States Budget higher child allowances for parents with children studying in Higher Education. The Panel noted that these proposals would benefit households in the middle to lower income range and were modelled on the higher child allowances introduced a few years previously for parents with child of pre-school age. |
