03.02.14 Item 1 517/27 | 1. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Review (CAMHS) The Panel discussed its ongoing review into CAMHS and made reference to the Kathie Bull Report which had been published In January 2003, named the "Review of the Principles, Practices and Provision for Children and Young People with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and Disorders in the Island of Jersey". Deputy J.G. Reed confirmed that he had a copy of this report and would circulate to the Panel. The Panel also discussed the appointment of an advisor to assist with the review and asked the officer to make further enquiries. The Panel confirmed the areas it would like the advisor to look at to include CAMHS best practice and comparisons with other jurisdictions. The Panel also confirmed that it would like an advisor to start in early March. The Panel held individual Private Hearings with four witness to talk about their experiences with CAMHS in Jersey. The Hearing was held in private session under Article 3.2.1 (a)(i) of the Code of Practice on Public Access to Official Information. | JR JH |
