1.  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Review (CAMHS)

The  Panel  discussed  its  ongoing  review  into  CAMHS  and  made reference  to  the  Kathie  Bull  Report  which  had  been  published   In January 2003, named the "Review of the Principles, Practices and Provision  for  Children  and  Young  People  with  Emotional  and Behavioural Difficulties and Disorders in the Island of Jersey". Deputy J.G.  Reed  confirmed  that  he  had  a  copy  of  this  report  and  would circulate to the Panel.

The Panel also discussed the appointment of an advisor to assist with the review and asked the officer to make further enquiries. The Panel confirmed the  areas  it  would  like  the  advisor  to  look  at  to  include CAMHS best practice and comparisons with other jurisdictions. The Panel also confirmed that it would like an advisor to start in early March.

The Panel held individual Private Hearings with four witness to talk about their experiences with CAMHS in Jersey. The Hearing was held in private session under Article 3.2.1 (a)(i) of the Code of Practice on Public Access to Official Information.
