Item 2 09.06.16 515/37 | 1. Dormant Bank Accounts Members agreed that the Chief Minister's amendment to the draft law (lodged on 14th June 2016) met with expectations and therefore there was no need for further action by the Panel in this respect. There was some query over exactly how the wording of the draft law identified the inclusion of precious metals and stones in the scheme as being optional for banks, but it was noted that the law draftsman had confirmed that this was the case. The Panel discussed some of the key points arising from the review and the Scrutiny Officer was asked to produce suitable draft Comments for approval by the Panel at its meeting on 22nd June. | MO |
Item 2 17.06.16 | 2. Quarterly Public Hearing The Panel gave further consideration to the forthcoming public hearing with the Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture. The Scrutiny Officer was asked to contact the department to request an update on ongoing work-streams prior to the public hearing. | MO |
