1.  Nursery Education Funding.

The Panel met to debrief the public meeting held on 13th April 2016. It agreed that there had been a very strong turnout by the public and that the format for the evening worked well. It was noted that the position of the Minister was still unclear, although it was clear that the decision to implement the changes remained. The meeting was considered to be a success.

The Panel discussed and decided on other lines of enquiry as to the way  forward,  with  further  hearings  to  be  held  with  interested stakeholders.

It  was  noted  that  the  view  of  the  public  meeting  had  been overwhelmingly against the imposition of the changes, however it was felt that there might have been an element of opposing views that had not been heard. A further press release was to be made inviting such views and thanking the public for the high turnout at the public meeting. The draft was to be approved by the Vice-Chairman and circulated immediately to the media.

In relation to P39/2016, it was agreed that Deputy S. Y. Macon was to discuss the proposition with Deputy M. Tadier .
