15/12/16 Item 1 517/35 | 2. Service Users of Home Care Review The Panel noted a draft report from the Officer on the Service Users of Home Care review. The Panel agreed to meet specifically to discuss this further. The Officer advised that a meeting request would be circulated in due course. | AH |

Living on Low Income Proposition The Panel received a document from the Chairman regarding submitting a proposition to the States Assembly to reinstate the single parent component of Income Support. The Panel noted possible versions of the proposition and an accompanying report. The Panel discussed the proposition and agreed in principle to take it forward. The Panel noted the financial implications of bringing forward this proposition and requested that the Officer contact the Social Security Department in order to gather further information on budgets, Lean Projects and details of savings that had been made as a result of removing the single parent component. The Panel tasked the Officer to contact Brighter Futures, Centre-Point, the Jersey Women's Refuge and the Jersey Child Care Trust in order to gain further information on how the benefit reduction has affected single parent families. The Panel also noted that the Health Profile was to be presented to all States Members on Tuesday 17th January between States sittings. | AH |
