The Committee re-iterated that it would continue to seek to progress the Codes, and an associated amendment of the States of Jersey (Powers, Privileges and Immunities) (Scrutiny Panels, PAC and PPC) Regulations 2006, for presentation to the States this term. It noted the relevant timeframes and considered that the most likely States meeting for debate of the Engagement Code was that beginning on 10th April, which would require the Engagement Code and amendment to the regulations to be lodged by 26th February. The option to request the States to reduce the minimum lodging period was also noted. It was further agreed that the working group would seek to complete its work as soon as it was able to so, with final sign off the documents by the Committee before their wider circulation to Panels and the PAC ahead of presentation. | JLF/TO |
