1.  Minutes

The Panel approved the records of the meetings held on 21st, 24th, 27th November and 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, 15th and 18th December. The Chairman signed the minutes accordingly.

 

 

2.  Public Hearing - Migration Policy

The Panel received representatives from the Institute of Directors (IoD) for a Public Hearing in respect of the Migration Policy. It was noted that the  proceedings  were  transcribed  and  that  the  transcript  would  be available on the Scrutiny website in due course.

3.  Migration Policy

The Panel considered the timetable for the publication of its report on the Migration Policy. It was advised that the Officer would endeavor to provide the Chairman with a draft report this week for his consideration. The Panel agreed that it would aim to present its report to the States Assembly on Friday 6th April.

4.  Legacy Report

The Panel deferred discussion of its legacy report until its next meeting. The Officer was requested to draft a report for the Panel to consider at its next meeting.

5.  Marriage and Civil Status Law

The Panel noted that the Ministerial Response to the Panel's report on the Marriage and Civil Status Law was presented to the States Assembly on 13th March 2018.

 

 

6.  External Relations - Global Engagement Strategy

The Panel noted receipt of the Global Engagement Strategy provided by the Minister for External Relations.

 

 

 

7.  Future Meetings

The Panel noted that it was due to receive the Chief Minister for a Quarterly Hearing on Monday 26th March at 2pm in the Blampied Room, States Building.
