Item 122/01/18 | 1. Draft Marriage and Civil Status (Jersey) Law The Panel recalled that it had previously agreed to amend its own amendment to the Draft Marriage and Civil Status Law in order to provide the opportunity for the States Assembly to debate a "Tolerance Clause" separately from other amendments to the Draft Law. The Panel reviewed a final version of the amendment and approved it for lodging. It was noted that a possible unintended consequence in relation to the amendment to the Draft Law to extend the quadruple lock to cover church halls had been drawn to the Panel's attention. It was also noted that the Chairman had requested that a correcting amendment be drawn up for the Panel to consider. The correcting amendment was considered by the Panel and approved for lodging. |
