Item 1 19.02.18 515/35 | 1. Licensing Law The Panel attended a private meeting at the Ommaroo Hotel, St. Clement at the invitation of the Jersey Hospitality Association (JHA) to hear their views on the draft Law. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Minister and the Policy Manager, EDTSC. Following the meeting the Panel discussed its reaction to the complaint recently lodged by the Assistant Minister with the Chairmen's Committee, concerning the conduct of the Panel's review. It was considered that the details of the complaint were somewhat laboured, and of the points raised, some were either factually incorrect or insignificant, and some arose at least partly in response to the actions (or inaction) of the department/SALPG. It was agreed that rather than making an immediate response, the best course for the Panel would be to finish preparing its Amendment while awaiting any further developments. | MO |
