1. Records of Meetings

The Panel noted and approved the record of its meeting on 11th January 2018. The Chairman signed the minute.

2. Long-Term Care Scheme

The Panel agreed to meet on Monday 5th February to discuss its draft report.

 

 

3. Care of Children in Jersey Review Panel

Senator S. Ferguson provided an update on the work of the Review Panel.

4. Hospital Review Panel

The Panel noted that the Ministerial Response to the Review Panel's report (S.R.13/2017 "Future Hospital Project") had been received on 22nd January. It was anticipated that the Review Panel would meet in due course to discuss the response.

 

 

5. Brexit Review Panel

The Chairman explained that progress was being made in relation to the review.

6. Discrimination (Disability) (Jersey) Regulations 201-

The Panel discussed the briefing it had received on the draft disability discrimination regulations on 23rd January. The Panel agreed that it would undertake a review of the regulations with a view to presenting Comments. The Officer advised that a Scoping Document would be drafted in due course.

The Panel noted that under the definition of disability addiction to alcohol, nicotine or any other substance was not considered a disability. The Panel requested the Officer to draft a letter to the Drug and Alcohol Service and Silkworth Lodge to obtain their views on this matter.

7. Mental Health Regulations

 

 

 

The Panel discussed the briefing it had received on 24th January. The Panel agreed to undertake a review of the regulations with a view to presenting Comments. The Officer advised that a Scoping Document would be drafted in due course.

8. Organ Donation

The Panel received a draft Scoping Document in relation to its review on organ donation. The Panel was advised that the Officer would circulate a revised version and Terms of Reference for final approval.

Deputy G. Southern explained that he did not wish to participate in the review. It was agreed that Deputy Southern would not partake in all future discussions regarding the review.

9. Future Meetings

The Panel noted that its next scheduled meeting would take place on 8th February 2018 at 9:30am in the Le Capelain room, States Building.
