Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel By email

08 December 2022 Dear Deputy Mezec,

Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel Cost of Living Mini-Budget 2022 Review (S.R.19/2022): Ministerial Response of the Minister for Treasury and Resources

Thank you for your letter dated the 9th of November. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.

On reflection and to clarify, this particular recommendation should be fully accepted. The implementation of the fair rents plan is running to schedule, with many actions already implemented. The timeline for outstanding actions remain under iterative review, seeking to expedite delivery where this is possible and appropriate. The published Ministerial Plans already set out commitments to reflect the implementation of the fair rents plan, which is supplemented by additional measures to support islanders through the cost of living crisis.

As per the original response to this recommendation, changes to the committed timescales in the fair rents plan require careful consideration to avoid negative consequences and this work is underway with the Minister for Housing and Communities.

Yours sincerely

Deputy Ian Gorst

Minister for Treasury and Resources
