Dear Sirs
My name is Janet Allaire, I am a Jersey resident who is very concerned about the sale of Jersey Telecom.
Why is Terry Le Sueur suggesting that Jersey sell off the islands assets, I am aware that in the future Jersey Telecom will not make as big a profit in the future as they have done in the Past. However it will still make a profit - which ever telecommunication networks comes into the island they will need to use Jersey Telecoms Networks Systems which will be rented to these companies. The are a forward looking company who are up to date with modern technology and will be able to sell their goods as well as any other company!!
Why sell Jersey Telecom totally off why not keep 51% - sell these shares to Jersey Telecom staff and to Jersey Residents - keep our company in the family, DO NOT SELL OFF OUR FAMILY JEWELS to a company who has no interest in our island or our people.
Why sell Jersey Telecom before the law which will be brought in to the island within the next 18 months which will protect the staff and ensure that they will keep their PENSIONS and contracts which the staff have. Does Terry Le Sueur have a agenda i.e does he not want the states to pay out the hard earned pensions that these employees have paid in over the years thus being very loyal to their company.
Who is next on the Agenda JERSEY POST - THE WATER BOARD - JEC
This would be a very good saving for the states NOT HAVING TO PAY OUT THESE PENSIONS.
I hope the Scruity Panel take into consideration the future consequences or knock on affects the sale of JT will have and not just look at the benefits of making a quick buck!!
Yours faithfully Janet Allaire
