Dear Sirs

With reference to the "User Pays" situation, I would like to add my views.

Having attended Jersey Live for the last three years, I was amazed by the amount of police at the event this year. It is not know as a disruptive event, I am sure that there is more trouble in town on a weekend night and felt that there was a more than adequate attendance of well qualified security people there already. I saw one incident over the weekend, and witnessed the police just stand back and watch whilst the security people saw to the problem. I understand that it is necessary for a police attendance to these things but they did seem to be a little mob handed, particularly on the Saturday, and am sure that with a police force of nearly 200, that it was a little unnecessary to have to "ship in" an additional 30 from the UK.

I am quite happy to pay a little extra in order to have a police presence at these events, but when the total added is approximately 33% of the ticket price, feel that this is a little excessive. Should there be a charge when there is an England/Portuguese football match on as this seems to cause more problems for the policeand where does the "user pays" theme stop?

Kind regards Louise Minier
