I am writing to you in response to the letter I received from Deputy Geoff Southern with regards to the newly formed Scrutiny sub panel for Income Support.
I would first like to express my gratitude to last years panel for all their help and support regarding payments to families of disabled children.
As a result we and other families in similar circumstances (those receiving Attendance Allowance and Disability Transport Allowance) had our transitional benefits protected. There was also some mention that children with severe disability would be able to claim the "high level personal care component" regardless of their parents income.
I have however never received any written correspondence from social security regarding any of the above.
I would be grateful if it could be confirmed when transitional payments are protected until and and also what other progress has been made on the above as these are areas which have not been completely resolved
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries
yours sincerely
