In response to your recent advert in the JEP, we live at The Dunes Apartments, Greve d'Azette, near The Dicq. Our apartment is on the first floor which means we are level with the promenade which runs in front of the building. Noise and litter is a real problem in this area in the summer months. Barbecues are held on the beach, or on the promenade if the tide is high, sometimes fires are lit on the beach (is this allowed?) and the litter left behind is awful. Perhaps more bins could be put in place, although not everybody would use them.

We, and other residents, have had the need to call the police late at night, sometimes they are too busy to come. They sometimes patrol the area early in the evening, when there are no problems, but they fail to return later when we are often kept awake until the early hours.

An alcohol-free zone on the promenade may help the situation, but of course this would have to be policed.
