This is in response to you advert in the JEP.

I live in Alexandra House at Cheapside. I overlook Peoples park and live next door to the Parade Park I cannot wait for my Castle Quay flat to be ready so that I can move.

Everyday drunks sit on the benches in Peoples park throwing all their cans and rubbish on the floor, drinking until they can hardly stand. Last Monday I phoned the police when one of the drunks decided at 13.00 to pee against a tree. The police were very good and asked me if I wanted to prosecute which I did not what a waste of tax payers money.

Most Fridays and Saturdays I am woken by drunken teenagers who congregate by the swings in the park with booze. They then hang about under the window of my flat screaming and shouting at each other. When I tell them to go away they shout abuse.

I have reported drunken teenagers on a few occasions to the police. The last time 5 or 6 hoodies were trying to break in cars outside La Cantina and Le Marquands.

There have been learners on small motor bikes or scooters going the wrong way down the road late at night doing wheelies.

I think we more police to patrol hot spots. I can look at either of the parks at any time of day and see drunks and rubbish why can't they??

Our underground car park has been used for the drunks to take cover in the rain. We have also had lots of stuff stolen my bike, which was chained, was taken even though it had a padlock!!

What a state of affairs.

I was shocked to read about the statue outside the new Ogiers building what a terrible shame.

Kind regards

Marion Garrett
