Dear Chairman,

Jersey Pottery has been a leading figure in the hospitality industry for over 64 years and all of its current directors, who are the third generation Jones's to invest in tourism are fully supportive of the proposed Tourism PPP.

Jersey Pottery itself has had to diversify and adapt to survive in recent years, with the quite dramatic changes which we have experienced, particularly with regards to the number of visitors who now visit Jersey.

Whilst doing so we have faced some challenging times and none more so than at this present time. We as a business are fully supportive on the new organisation for the marketing and promotion of Jersey visitor economy.

With Hospitality being our second industry is it imperative that we halt the decline in length of stay and start growing the numbers again. We believe this can be done, and I believe the proposed PPP is the ideal organisation to manage our way through these challenging times. Personally I have yet to hear a negative view of the proposal PPP other than a rather ill-informed comment in the JEP. In fact quite the opposite.

I have recently sat next to Lord Karan Bilimoria at a lunch, where I was interested to hear him totally unsponsored extolling the virtues of his experiences with some PPP's he is involved with in the UK with the government.

I believe that the current funds routed to the new PPP from EDD in addition to the additional private sector funds would be used to better effect and to the benefit of the whole economy not just the Hospitality sector

The sooner this partnership is in operation the better. Your sincerely

Robert Jones
