Subject: Shop prices
You might be interested to know the intense competition our shops are facing.
I wanted a pair of reasonably good binoculars and although there were dozens to be found on line I wanted advice as to which was best to suit my requirements.
I was sold a pair for £130.OO less £10 discount . I had said similar to what I had previously to a local camera shop that t didn't mind paying up to 10% extra than I could buy on line.
The camera was in excess of that 10% so I was given an upgrade.
The identical binoculars were being sold on line for £76.00. The retailer told me that that was less than he could buy them for and offered a £25 reduction I couldn't accept this offer and again said if he finds an up grade perhaps that would be the answer.
Let's not forget there is no VAT. Reduction here .
I am not bringing this to your attention for the reason that I paid more than I could have obtained these articles for but the very real problem that retailers in Jersey will find it increasingly difficult to deal with
