Dear Sir/Madam

I write in anguish regarding the proposed 20 hour nursery fees being taken away from a two parent family with 2 incomes.

Easter was a quieter affair as my husband and I tried to find alternative money to continue with our sons private nursery fees.

States nursery is not an option to us as we both work full time and the states nursery is term time only.

The 20 hours acts a breather for many parents. Either going back to work or thinking of having another child etc. In our case we increased our mortgage with the help of the 20 hours that would be in place. Allowing us to venture into the property market and secure a home for our young family.

This is not forgetting the developmental needs of a pre school child and all the positive steps this brings in their early years.

I believe that if the 20 hours is withdrawn within the middle class families it will effect hundreds. It's acts as a ripple effect, bringing every working mum a real sense of worry.

I'm our case we reach the £75 K means test just and therefore we may have to think about freezing our pensions or one of us giving up work.

Please could you help with this matter and try and understand the anguish genuinely felt across the island.

Kind regards
