Good Evening

I am writing to express my concerns regarding nursery fees.

Many people that this is effecting have planned their lives round the free nursery place. Our plan was to have a child, then in the year leading up to the free nursery place we would try for another. We currently have a ten month old and pay £1400 per month for a full time childcare place as my husband and I both work full time. We literally couldn't afford another child till my little one goes to school. By which time I'll be forty. We will now only be able to have one child.

I am a nurse earning £48,000 and my husband has very recently joined the banking sector, starting on a lower than average wage because he is new to the area. Annually we just about collectively earn £75,000. Meaning we wouldn't qualify. My husband brings home £1600. as you can see it would make more sense for my husband to give up work in order to afford another child! That would be very sad, to have a young hard working man out of the workforce! The irony is, is that we would then probably qualify!

I feel this change effects average hard working families! Which is completely unfair.

Kind Regards
