Email Submission – John Breakwell, Partner – Breakwells Transport Ltd
Breakwells have been delivering goods to Jersey for well over forty years now carrying all types of goods ranging from flooring, high street fashion, medical supplies and many other commodities. With the UK leaving the EU we have met with very few issues with deliveries as most goods we carry are UK sourced.
Our main objective now like many others is to get through the current covid restrictions of which we entirely understand are in place to reduce the spread.
The TECA agreement has had none or very little impact on our business we are happy to say. Therefor any enhanced checks on EU goods shipped to Jersey via Breakwells should not pose any problems as we would have to make sure all correct documentation is made out properly before any goods are shipped.
It is difficult to say at this time if the TECA agreement was terminatedwithinthe90daycoolingoff period. I would hope the shipment of all EU goods and all other trade issues regarding Brexit can be made easier as time goes on.
