Migration Control Policy: Review of proposed amendments to the Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 2012
I refer to your letter of 21 January and am grateful to you for offering IoD Jersey, the opportunity to provide input on the proposals.
In light of the timeframe, I have not had an opportunity to consult widely with our members and have not as yet heard from any of them further to my circulating your letter to the membership, as is usually the case.
In the circumstances, I have reviewed the response from Jersey Finance which I am aware (through my daytime role as Head of Legal & Technical at Jersey Finance) has been submitted to you on 28 January and which reflects Jersey Finance's understanding of industry needs, based on previous discussions with representative trade bodies and individual members. In this regard, I note that Jersey Finance has focused its comments on the key headline recommendations and observations, limiting itself to a finance industry perspective of the issues. The membership of IoD Jersey is also made up of non-finance members although a large proportion of our members are also from the finance industry.
In the absence of any substantive response from our members, I therefore wish to confirm that I concur with the views set out by Jersey Finance.
