I have concerns about using the rainy day fund, we always need a reserve for a crisis. This is not a crisis, but will be if this project continues.
We do not need an acute hospital, with plans for Community Care. We are 9X 5 miles, nobody is ever far from the hospital. A general hospital is a better option, to cover the majority of needs.

The Overdale Site could be developed with the more recent services to remain, especially Samares Ward . A new, smaller hospital could be built on the Warwick Farm site. I see no reason why we cannot continue to have a two centre site. This would avoid the outrageous scheme of the new highway' which will wreck People's Park, and is too costly.
Above all, there must be provision for long term rehabilitation. Patients should not be placed in such unsuitable conditions as they are at present, and then expected to pay for after care.
