The proposed cost of the hospital is so inflated that there must be something untoward occurring. Gwent hospital, royal Papworth amongst others in GB and Europe cost a fraction of the proposed figures for our new hospital. Perhaps the largest car park in the island may have been a factor.
The figures are so high that I really believe that there should be an enquiry into the decision to award the contract to Rok and a Spanish motorway construction specialist. If not a States enquiry then perhaps a police fraud enquiry or maybe a financial services probe - I cannot believe that our States members are stupid enough to vote for this project at this price in the wrong site without some sort of inducement. If we discover that they are that stupid that should be made public anyway.
