I am truly upset at the choice of the new hospital site. As it has been influenced by a unknown and unaccountable secret team of people. This choice left at the end was incomplete, and sites like Warwick Farm was rules out. When you look at the.selection matrix there are an awful lot of errors and assumptions made that are incorrect. The access to the site at Overdale is difficult, up a very steep hill. I disagree with the destruction of People's Park to improve the road, when it is not the only option. What is left of the Park will be green Island, not accessible by the public, cut off by a multi lane road and much smaller. There is also the loss of the bowls club and children's playground.

People Park us important for many people in different ways. It is the home to wildlife, a social venue, a sports venue and an events venue, all would be lost. The loss if the parking is also important, both to residents and users of this end of St.Helier, and is often used by higher vehicles, unable to use a multistory, and so far no alternative has been suggested in this area.

Alternative access has not been properly considered, as the destruction of the Park is easy meat. The Cottage Homes could be rebuilt, more modern and better, perhaps at South Hill, giving another entrance, but not the sole way in. There must be a considered plan of entry, involving all existing roads, with only minor alterations, an additional entrance where the cottage homes are, possibly for shuttle buses, ambalances and emergency vehicles only, but used by the builders in the meantime. The use of one ways and other traffic control, especially on West Mount. There can also be access from Tower Rd, St.John's Rd, New St.John's Rd, Queens Road and La Grande Route de St.Jean. The site is not ideal, if you had wanted easy access, Warwick Farm would have been chosen.

There needs to be more studies done on the traffic and access for this site, and also sites like Warwick Farm and the Waterfront. The access should have been a prime consideration in site selection, and once again the Island is presented with few facts in the hope to railroad this scheme through. Nothing has been learned from the earlier applications, and all we can hope for now is delays until a new government is elected, not a good way forward.

Regards, Philip Johnson .
