Dear Scrutiny,

I am opposed to the alterations to Westmount Road that are proposed for the new hospital as it will ruin the west side of Town forever. I supported saving People's Park and it will now be used for a road!

Here are answers to the questions:

  1. I live near Westmount Hill and I also grew up in Jersey. I do not want to see this beautiful and historic hill destroyed.
  2. The proposed road will totally ruin the hill and take away the bowls club, Petanque bowls on Pierson Road and the surrounding nature. The residents will also be affected by having a very wide and busy road near hundreds of people in the flats and houses.
  3. No, the hill is too steep for bicycles or most people to walk, especially if you need medical attention! Bus routes would have to be changed to provide proper and fast access from town.
  4. No, the government hasn't consulted with anyone from the public. They just release information, most of it not complete. Only the information they want to share.
  5. No, as far as I can tell, the government hasn't taken any public views on board at all. They are just trying to bully everyone to get the plan through and hope no one notices.
  6. No, my voice has not been heard as the government has not made any changes to their plans to ruin the west side of town. The States must not accept this plan.

Thank You. Soraya Zadal
