As a shop owner, it's important for my customers to have the choice to use or not to use cash.
I find if I have to use a card for a small amount of £1.08 it's not worth the card charges as a business.
I would rather customer use cash for small amounts. It's ok for restaurants and pubs or other shops that don't have to carry small items for customers only using cards or insisting cards are used but it makes it difficult for shops like mine.
Lots of the local charities also are suffering due to people not having cash.
I have been returning the charity boxes back to the charities as in the last couple of years no one has any change to put in the boxes.
It's very sad how life is changing.
There should be a law to prevent these business from refusing cash. Cash is King.
