Following significant withdrawals, the PCB believes it is important that the Health Insurance Fund receives sufficient funds to ensure it continues to provide for primary care. The PCB recommended this prior to inception of the Jersey Care Model.
We are pleased to see there is a proposal to transfer sums into the fund to ensure it has a sufficient balance to meet the historic and ongoing claim liabilities. We think it is imperative that the fund is sustainable and would suggest that a mechanism for occasional review be instituted so that it remains so.
