Marine Spatial Plan Review submission Toby Woolley – 25 July 2024

I am a professional scallop diver in Jersey and have been diving with my uncle for 10 years. I 100% back the marine spatial plan with blue Marine running it, I don't see a problem with the jersey fisheries policing it too. I don't see any reason why they should reduce the size of the protected area as these have been surveyed and showed mearl beds that should be protected from the bottom dredgers as this is a prime habitat for a lot of small/juvenile fish. The dredging fleet is expanding at an alarming rate and if the size of the mpa is reduced this could leave a lot of unprotected areas being decimated.
