A review of proposals to introduce a GP co-operative service for the delivery of out-of-hours care
Terms of reference
- To examine whether the proposed GP out-of-hours service would enhance patient care and would meet the requirements of patients and GPs.
- To consider the implications of a formal service agreement between the Department of Health & Social Services and General Practitioners for GP practices and the services they provide.
- To consider the impact the GP out-of-hours service would have on other services currently provided by the Department of Health & Social Services.
- To consider the implications of the proposed system for any GP practice which would choose not to form part of the system.
- To assess whether the proposed arrangements would be the most cost effective way of delivering an out-of-hours service.
