The Panel will look at the draft strategy to see whether the assumptions and recommendations in the plans are appropriate to meet the Island’s waste water requirements for the planned lifetime of the strategy, or if further work is needed.
Terms of reference
- To undertake a review of the draft Waste Water Strategy, with particular emphasis on sustainability and whole life costs, ensuring as far as possible that proposed investments by the States are considered fit for purpose both now and for the foreseeable future
- To review the technology options available for sewage treatment and consider the viability of alternative technology solutions for the Sewage Treatment Works (for example the cost benefits of deep shaft aeration)
- To review the sewerage collection system to confirm its suitability or otherwise in the context of likely future developments, for example increasing use of grey water recycling
