About
The Draft Motor Vehicles (Removal from Private Land) (Jersey) Regulations 201- are designed to bring in to force the Motor Vehicles (Removal from Private Land) (Jersey) Law 2019 which was adopted by the States Assembly on 21st Novemver 2018. The Regulations create a framework for the banning of wheel clamping and also set out the procedures and checks to follow when a vehicle is required to be removed from private land. The States Assembly are due to debate the regulations on Tuesday 21st May 2019. If adopted, the regulations would come into effect after the expiration of the Removal of Vehicles (Private Land) (Jersey) Regulations 2016 in June 2019.
The Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel reviewed the Law when it was originally lodged for debate and agreed it would review the final regulations once they were lodged au greffe. The Panel has published comments in respect of the draft regulations in advance of the debate on 21st May.
