CALL FOR EVIDENCE – Share your views

The Migration and Population Review Panel, as part of its Common Population Policy Review, is currently seeking views of the recently published Common Population Policy by the Chief Minister, prior to its debate in February 2022.

Scrutiny would like to hear Islanders' thoughts on the proposed policy, specifically concerning:

Is the proposed inaugural Common Population Policy fit for purpose?

Is it the right course of action to commit future Council of Ministers to include its policy on population in Government Plans from 2023 onwards?

Did you have ample opportunity to take part in the formation of the proposed policy?

Are there areas that the proposed policy does not provide guidance on?

What will the impact of the policy be?

What actions do you believe Islanders, businesses and the Government of Jersey need to take to meet the proposed policy?

Is there sufficient rationale for the conclusion that it is premature to set any specific population target?

The proposed policy potentially impacts you, your family or your organisation, as the proposition may affect public services, the economy and the environment of the island. As such it is important that you take the opportunity to have your say.
