Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel  

Information Request

At the Panel's meeting on 12th October 2022, it was agreed that further information be requested on the following items:

  1. States Employment Board – Follow Up: Employment of the Former Chief Executive
  2. Proposed Ministerial Plans Legislative Programme for 2023

States Employment Board – Follow Up: Employment of the Former Chief Executive

The Panel notes that within the Executive Response to the States Employment Board – Follow Up: Employment of the Former Chief Executive, the previous Government rejected the Comptroller  and  Auditor  General's  recommendation  (R8)  to  enhance  accountability,  by including in the Government Plan a short description of the scope of revenue income and expenditure budget lines.

Given your commitment to improving the transparency and accountability of the Government, the  Panel  would  like  to  know  whether  any  consideration  has  been  given  to  this recommendation within the Government Plan 2023 – 2026 and whether it shall include a short description of the scope of revenue income and expenditure budget lines.

Proposed Ministerial Plans Legislative Programme for 2023

The Panel notes that within the Proposed Ministerial Plans a legislative programme for 2023 is outlined. In order to inform its work programme, the Panel has agreed to request a timeline of lodging for the following legislation:

- Statistics and Census (Jersey) Law 2018

- Jersey Public Services Ombudsperson

- Control of Housing and Work Law

- States of Jersey Law 2005

- Employment of States of Jersey Employees (Jersey) Law 2005

The Panel look forward to receiving this information via a formal written response no later than Friday 21st October 2022. Please be advised that it is the intention of the Panel to publish any response received on the States Assembly Website.
