Opportunity for young Islanders to attend French-speaking conference

States Assembly

6 February 2019

Two young Islanders are sought to represent Jersey at the Parlement des Jeunes (a French-speaking parliamentary conference) which will take place in Côte d'Ivoire from 4 to 9 July 2019.

The conference is organised by the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF) and provides an opportunity to experience parliamentary democracy in action and to debate issues with others from the French-speaking world.

Candidates must be between 18 and 23 at the time of the conference; have an excellent level of spoken and written French; and have a keen interest in local and international politics.

Applications must be submitted by Tuesday 19 February 2019.  Applicants will be expected to submit a written exercise in French.  For more information on the conference and how to apply, contact William Millow (Assistant Greffier of the States) at w.millow@gov.je.
