voting

(P.10/2016) –  The Committee expressed its commitment to pursuing the introduction of electronic amendment.  voter registration in time for the 2018 public elections, but did not believe that it was 424/99(1)  feasible to introduce electronic voting in the 2018 elections either in polling stations

or online because of the time needed to complete research; assess the benefits, challenges and likely impact of electronic voting; agree a recommended approach; tender for systems; trial and test the system and implement the new approach.

Accordingly, the Committee approved the amendment, which deleted the words "in the 2018 elections" after the words "to vote electronically", and inserted the words "as soon as practicable". It was requested that the amendment be lodged au Greffe' for consideration by the States at its meeting on 22nd March 2016.
