having previously been circulated, were taken as read and were confirmed.

Standing Order  A2.  The Deputy Greffier notified the Committee that a request had been received 173 – the  to take photographs at the Jersey Youth Assembly. The Committee recalled that taking of  Standing Order 173(4)(g) prohibited a stranger' whilst in the precincts of the States photographs in  from taking a photograph, or recording a moving image, without the leave of the the precincts of  Assembly. However, it was felt that this prohibition related to times when the States the States.  were sitting, rather than during school visits, or other organised tours.

450/99/2(11)

The Deputy Greffier reminded the Committee that at times when young people were in the Chamber the permission of the relevant schools and the Chair would need to be obtained before taking photographs.

The Committee recalled that during a recent meeting of the States, one of the Members of the States had taken a photograph using an iPad. Although Standing Order 173(4)(g) did not relate to States Members, it was felt that he had used an electronic device in such a way as to impair decorum, or otherwise cause any disturbance to the proceedings of the States.

The Committee noted the position accordingly.
