Standing Order 55A – remote participation
THE STATES, with reference to their Act dated 14th September 2021, in which they had agreed that, notwithstanding Standing Order 55A(1), members who did not wish to attend in the States Chamber might continue to take part in States meetings using Microsoft Teams (until the States had considered and voted upon a proposition to re-apply Standing Order 55A(1) or to repeal or vary the terms of the Standing Order), assembled in accordance with Standing Order 55A with members able to participate remotely using Microsoft Teams.
Liberation Day 2022
The Bailiff informed the Assembly that arrangements were underway for the 77th anniversary of the Liberation of the Island from Occupation to be celebrated in the traditional way.
Vigil for Ukraine
The Bailiff informed the Assembly that a vigil would take place at 6.00 p.m. on 4th March 2022 in the Royal Square in order that Islanders might show their solidarity and support for the people of the Ukraine.
Tribute to the late Mr. Edwin Le Gresley Godel, former member of the States
The Bailiff paid tribute to the late Mr. Edwin Le Gresley Godel, former Connétable of St. Mary . The States observed one minute's silence as a mark of respect.

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of Deputy Michael Roderick Higgins of St. Helier entitled Ukraine – Condemnation of Russian invasion and support for Ukraine' (P.36/2022), condemned the Russian government's invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine and, in pledging the support of the States and people of Jersey to the people of the Ukraine, requested the Council of Ministers to report back at the next meeting of the States Assembly on the steps taken by the Government of Jersey to provide support and to deliver aid to the people of the Ukraine.

Order in Council: adoption of new Canons P.12/2022
THE STATES, adopting a proposition of the Chief Minister entitled Order in Council: adoption of new Canons' (P.12/2022) –
- endorsed the attachment of Jersey to the Church of England Diocese of Salisbury instead of the Diocese of Winchester and agreed, including for the purposes of Article 31 of the States of Jersey Law 2005, that a request be made to Her Majesty in Council for the making of an Order in Council providing for the attachment of Jersey to the Diocese of Salisbury, for the transfer to the Bishop of Salisbury of all such jurisdiction as the Bishop of Winchester had in relation to Jersey, and making certain consequential amendments to legislation affecting the Church of England in Jersey to reflect such transfer including revoking the Order in Council of Elizabeth I of 11 March 1569 whereby Jersey had been attached to the Church of England Diocese of Winchester; and
- endorsed the amended Canons of the Church of England in Jersey as set out in R.8/2022 and as approved by the Right Reverend the Bishop of Salisbury, the Dean of Jersey, the Ecclesiastical Court, and the Deanery Synod of the Island so that the draft Canons might be submitted to Her Majesty with a request that an Order in Council be issued bringing them into force in Jersey.
