States A1. The Committee, with reference to Minute No. A5 of its meeting of 12th December Members' 2022, received and considered a draft Report regarding the appointment of a reviewer Remuneration. of States Members' remuneration.
The Committee recalled that it had established a panel to undertake a recruitment process in order to identify a person to carry out a review, which had resulted in a total of 4 candidates applying for the role. The panel had interviewed all 4 candidates on 24th January 2023 and had been unanimous in their endorsement of Ms. Jennifer Long, an independent consultant based in the United Kingdom.
The Committee noted that, in accordance with the provisions of the States of Jersey (Amendment – Remuneration of Elected Members) (Jersey) Law 2022, it was mandated to give 14 days' notice to the States of the identity of the proposed reviewer.
The Committee approved Ms. Long for appointment and requested the Principal Committee and Panel Officer to make the necessary arrangements for the Report to be presented to the States Assembly as soon as practicable.
