Minutes  A2. The Sub-Committee approved the minutes of the meeting held on 17th May 2024. Work  A3. The Sub-Committee noted and agreed its ongoing work programme.

DAGS letter  A4. The Sub-Committee noted the correspondence received from the Chief Minister and  and the updated recommendations. It was noted that the Chief Minister had stated that Recommendati due to limited time the current Government had in office, it would not be possible to ons from the  bring reform of constitutional arrangements or significant organisational change as the Chief Minister  focus was on service delivery. The Sub-Committee agreed that it was content with the

additions to the recommendations and would write to the President of the Scrutiny Liaison Committee to ask for its views on taking the matter forward.

Standing  A5. The Sub-Committee discussed an amendment to Standing Order 113/115 regarding Orders  timings around appointment of a new Chief Minister as the recent VONC revealed the 113/115  short turnaround time in which the Assembly had to appoint a new Chief Minister. It regarding  was agreed that office continuity must be a priority and it was requested that a timetable timings around  of VONC and how things happened be presented for further consideration. appointing a

Law Drafters  A6. The Sub-Committee discussed Law Drafting Training for States Members, noting Training  that it would like a clearer understanding of process and transparency. It was agreed sessions  that a date of 26th July from 12pm – 1pm be considered for a Sub-Committee meeting

with the Principal Legislative Drafter, with the Research and Project Officer tasked with liaising with the Law Drafter. It was further agreed that training session be arranged following the summer recess for all States Members.

Future  A7. The Sub-Committee noted that the next meeting will be held on 26th July 2024 in Meetings  the Le Capelain Room from 11:00am-12:00pm. The Research and Project Officer is

tasked with adjusting the time to be extended by a half hour (10:30AM to 12:00PM).
