Minutes. The Chair discussed the Coming of Age Event and the need to revisit the planning of

this event at this stage, along with the goal of working to get more Jersey politics on the school curriculum. A number of potential stands were suggested including tax, social security and Youth Service. It was stated that the intention for these events was for them to come from the Parishes, with the States Greffe support.

It was noted that a meeting with the Curriculum Council will be taking place in July 2024 that will be attended by the Chair in her capacity as Assistant Minister for Education. It was also noted that a new Education Manager role in Digital and Public Engagement will be coming soon. The Head of Digital and Public Engagement noted that information regarding the States Assembly will be available to Government employees on the new website which is ongoing.

The Connétable of St. Martin , the Connétable of St. John and the Connétable of St. Peter stated their support for the Coming of Age Event and would be happy to trial it in their respective Parishes. The Connétable of St. John suggested that the event be expanded to individuals who have moved to Island as well and that there is a need to build engagement in schools.

The Connétable of St. Brelade stated that the Parish of St. Brelade has electoral information, however, the information does not state how many children are in the Parish. It was suggested that social media be utilized to promote the event.

The Connétable of St. Mary suggested that the Leavers' Assembly could be a good avenue for engaging with youth on Jersey.
