Dear Minister
Capital Projects – Sandybrook Care Home / Care Homes for people with complex needs
I wrote to you on 28th November to request further information in relation to Sandybrook Care Home and the care homes for people with complex needs. The capital funding for these projects was withdrawn following a ministerial decision and report to the Assembly (R.132/2018) in October 2018.
My Panel is particularly keen to understand your policy intentions in relation to these projects, particularly as we understand that Sandybrook may not meet the required standards under the Regulation of Care law in January 2019. We asked for your response by 4th December, however this has not been forthcoming.
As you will be aware, the Scrutiny Engagement code requires information to be provided to scrutiny panels within 5 working days. In exceptional circumstances, this can be increased to 10 working days. Either way, your response now exceeds the provisions set out in the code of practice and we have not received an explanation as to the delay.
I would be grateful for your urgent attention to this matter and look forward to receiving your response by 5pm tomorrow (Thursday 13th December).
Yours sincerely
Senator Kristina Moore
